Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery
This is a newer and less extensive form of gastric bypass which is rapidly becoming popular with those patients who want a quicker procedure and speedier recovery time. It is very similar to the main Roux-en-Y procedure although it is less extensive.
In spite of its increasing popularity the mini gastric bypass has not yet been proven to be an effective procedure and the jury is still out in the UK and the US as regards its use.
The Roux-en-Y procedure will probably be recommended instead.
