Guideline Daily Amounts
This is a set of guidelines, for men and women, which show the breakdown of fats, salt, sugar and calories which constitute a healthy diet.
These are based on an ‘average’ adult. Athletes, pregnant women, children and the elderly will have different requirements.
Here is the GDA breakdown:

You will notice that the nutritional information displayed on a food product will shows the GDA’s as a series of percentages.
For example, if a food contains 3.2g of fat then this equates to 5% of your GDA.
