A new three dimensional photography system allowing patients to see how cosmetic surgery treatments will affect them before they go under the knife is being lauded in Memphis, USA.
The advanced technology, which is currently being used by Dr Eby and Dr Aldea of Cosmetic Surgery Specialists of Memphis, allows patients to see three-dimensional models of themselves; showing what they would look like after treatment before they have it completed. This stage in the treatment process is made available through the use of the VECTRA 3D camera and Sculptor technology, which allows for a life-sized 3D image of the patients to be made and then manipulated by the surgeons to show the after affects of surgery. Using the technology, Dr Aldea and Dr Eby can show patients the results of breast enlargements, liposuctions, Tummy Tucks and face lifts prior the actually having the surgery done.
Dr Aldea stated; ‘My patients absolutely love this. For the first time they’re able to see a 3D picture of themselves with their new look. Because it’s in 3D I can rotate their picture to any viewpoint and they can really examine the desired result. This truly educated them and helps them make a decision.’
This advanced preview technology is not yet widely available, with Dr Eby and Dr Albea being the only surgeons offering this service in the greater Memphis area.
