Who should consider CLE/RLE?
If you have been refused laser eye surgery such as LASEK, LASIK or PRK then this is an option. Implantable Contact Lenses or ICL’s are another option.
If you have developed cataracts or have a severe level of myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism then you are likely to be a suitable candidate for this procedure.
If you are aged 60 or over then CLE/RLE is the preferred option over Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL’s). Why? This is because this procedure involves removing the cloudy lens of the eye with a synthetic variety. An ICL is inserted into the cornea, over the existing lens of the eye.
Your surgeon will discuss your suitability with you during the consultation.
