Will stopping smoking help me to live longer? - A Guide to Stop Smoking
It is never too late to stop smoking and doing so will result in a whole range of health benefits which can include a normal life expectancy.
No-one can be absolutely sure about how long they will live but we do know that stopping smoking leads to improved health. And the healthier you are the longer you will live although there are always exceptions to this.
If you started smoking in your teens and are now in your thirties then stopping smoking could mean that you live as long as a non-smoker.
The longer you smoke the greater the risks of diseases such as heart disease and certain cancers so giving up will reduce the risks of these.
None of us can be certain as to how long we will live as there are many factors to take into consideration but we can take steps to improve our health and wellbeing and live a healthy, positive life.
