Q15. Should I visit my doctor about my premature ejaculation?
A15. If your condition has had a negative impact upon your relationship or is causing a great deal of stress then visit your GP. Do this if you are experiencing a serious form of premature ejaculation as there may be an underlying condition, e.g. high blood pressure which is causing this problem. Do not feel embarrassed or ashamed about doing so as this is a very common condition which your GP will have treated many times. He/she will be used to seeing patients with this problem and so will approach it with sympathy and understanding. Your GP will ask you about your medical history as well as your sex life and may refer you for tests if needed. Find out more about this in our diagnosing premature ejaculation section.
