Keeping your child entertained
It can be difficult to keep your child entertained during long journeys, but here are some ideas:
- Break up your journey; stop for lunch or a drink at a town where there is something interesting for your child to see; this will distract their attention from the journey and give them something interesting to do.
- Play games, such as eye spy, which encourage them to look around and can involve the whole family.
- Put story tapes/CD’s on in the car
- Take plenty of toys and books with you
- Remember their favourite blanket/teddy bear/ comforter
- Take plenty of drinks and snacks
