Q6. What are the psychological effects of marijuana?

A6. The most obvious one is that of euphoria or a 'high' in which the person feels elated and on top of the world.

They become talkative, have a tendency to laughter and become very sociable.

Other effects include hallucinations (distorted perception), lack of inhibitions, poor memory and an inability to concentrate.

Many people start off feeling high which eventually wears off, leaving them in a relaxed, sleepy state which is known as being 'stoned'.

But others find that they become fearful, anxious and paranoid.
