In vitro fertilisation failure
If the test shows that you are not pregnant or you have a period 14 days following embryo implantation then the treatment cycle has failed.
You will be extremely disappointed by this so it may help to talk to someone at the clinic. They have trained counsellors available who will be sympathetic to your concerns and will support you during this time.
It can also help talking to other women who have gone through the same thing. A support group can help in this aspect.
As disappointing as this is, there is the option to try again with IVF. This all depends on your financial situation, the number of cycles available and whether your Primary Care Trust (PCT) is prepared to fund any more of these.
And if IVF is not an option there are other types of fertility treatment. Your specialist will be able to advise you on your options.
