Is Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer the same as In-vitro fertilisation (IVF)?
This is where many couples get confused by the two techniques. The main difference is in the fertilisation process: GIFT takes place in the fallopian tubes whereas IVF occurs in a laboratory setting.
The process takes around 30 minutes to an hour although this depends on the number of eggs to be extracted.
