Likely questions about infertility from your general practitioner (GP)
He or she will ask both you how long you have been trying to conceive, what contraception you are using and when you stopped taking it and whether you have had any sexually transmitted diseases.
Both of you will be asked about your general health and lifestyle. This will include questions about diet, exercise, alcohol intake and stress.
Women: you will be asked whether you have had any menstrual irregularities and about any previous pregnancies (and how successful they were).
Men: you will be asked if you have had mumps as this can cause sterility in adult men.
