Q20. Is impotence preventable?
A20. In most cases it is preventable but there are exceptions to this. If your impotence has been caused by aspects of an unhealthy lifestyle such as being overweight, smoking, drinking too much alcohol or a lack of exercise then these can be remedied very easily. A few healthy changes will deal with your impotence.
This also applies if you are taking any form of medication and impotence is one of the side effects. If this is the case then you can change to an alternative form of medicine. But, if your problem has been caused by an underlying medical condition such as high blood pressure then this will have to be controlled on a regular basis. This means that you will have to take medication or use some other form of treatment in the short term. If you have sustained an injury or trauma to that area of your body then this may have affected your ability to get an erection. If so then you might have to resign yourself to undergoing regular treatment to restore this function.
