Can women suffer from hair loss?
The answer to that is yes. Hair loss can be temporary or permanent – in both sexes but is far less understood in women.
But, it can be as equally as embarrassing for women as for men.
We tend to assume that only men go bald but women can also experience hair loss usually for different reasons from men. These include hormonal changes such as the menopause, contraception or over-reliance on hair products.
Our Female Hair Loss section discusses this in more detail.
