Q7. How do I treat cradle cap?
A7. In many cases, it doesn’t require treatment and usually clears up by itself. But if it persists then there are various ways of treating this condition. These include massaging a little olive oil or baby oil into your baby’s scalp before brushing off the softened flakes of skin. Another option is to use a mild shampoo or one which has been designed for babies. Persistent cases of cradle cap will require an antifungal shampoo or antibiotics. These can be obtained via your GP.Find out more in our cradle cap treatment section.
