Q3. What are the different types of contact lenses?
A3. There are two types of contact lenses which are gas permeable and soft lenses. Soft lenses have largely taken over from gas permeable lenses and are very popular with many people due to their comfort and ease of use.
Within these two categories are a variety of lenses such as daily disposable, two weekly, monthly and extended wear lenses. These lenses are classed as disposable or reusable.
Disposable lenses are a type of lens which is once just the once and then thrown away.
Other lenses such as daily wear, two weekly, monthly etc are worn during the day and then removed at night for cleaning and overnight soaking. These lenses are replaced the following morning.
The lens you choose depends upon your lifestyle and budget.
