Q13. What causes measles?
A13. Measles is caused by the paramyxovirus which can be passed from one person to another through the air.
If a person coughs or sneezes then droplets containing the virus will be present in the air or on a surface. This makes it easy for the virus to be picked up by another person. Measles starts with a fever, runny nose and cough and swollen lymph glands before the rash appears.
