Q9. Does stress cause acne?

A9. No but it can worsen it. Stress affects the body in a variety of ways which includes hormone levels. It can cause hormonal changes which can lead to an over production of sebum which then triggers acne.

However, raised stress levels are more likely to aggravate acne. This is discussed further in our acne complications section.
