Q9. What is microsclerotherapy?

A9. This minimally invasive procedure is a variation on sclerotherapy which is usually performed on cases of varicose veins.

It involves the injection of a liquid chemical into the thread vein via a very thin needle which causes the vein to become inflamed and shut down. Blood is no longer able to flow through this sealed vein and is rerouted into healthy veins.

This is discussed in more detail in our microsclerotherapysection.
