What questions should I ask my liposuction surgeon at the consultation?

There are questions which apply to all types of procedures such as how many years have you been doing this procedure, what are the success rates of this surgery and what qualifications do you have.

There are so many questions to ask that it’s a good idea to write these down beforehand. Take a list of these in with you when you meet with a surgeon and ask each one in turn.

You can either note down the answers or record the consultation on a Dictaphone or some other recording device.

  • Do you use the most up to date techniques?
  • I am over 40 so what can I expect from this surgery?
  • What are the benefits of liposuction?
  • What are the complications?
  • Will I have a lot of pain after my surgery?
  • How big will the scars be?
  • How long will I be away from work?
  • What care should I take after my liposuction?
