What is the body lift procedure?

This is major surgery which is undertaken in three stages.

Stage 1 and stage 2: you will be asked to lie on your side. Fat and skin are removed from the hips, thighs, buttocks and back.

Stage 3: in this last stage a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is performed. This removes any excess fat and tightens the abdominal muscles giving a firmer and tauter looking stomach.

The incisions for this surgery are placed so that they are hidden by underwear/swimwear.

The surgery can take from 3 to 7 hours although it depends on the extent of the procedure. It is carried out using a general anaesthetic plus dissolvable stitches are used which means no removal.
