Using Alli
This section is aimed at people who are keen to use alli or have already purchased the weight loss capsules from their pharmacist. If you are one of these people then read on. This section of the guide looks at how alli is used in combination with a diet and exercise plan. Alli is most effective as part of an overall weight loss management system. This is discussed as the following subsections:
Each of these subsections is a vital part of the alli programme. There are also tools to help you with your weight loss which include recipe/meal planners and discussion forums.
Alli weight loss capsules
These slim, blue capsules are available in two weekly or one months supply. Instructions for their use will be included. Take one capsule before or during a meal, or if you prefer, up to one hour after you have eaten. Take each capsule with water and swallow it whole. Do not break open the capsule and sprinkle the contents onto your food. Some people do this with capsules as they find them difficult to swallow but doing this will prevent it from working properly.
If you consume a fat free meal then do not take a capsule. You need to take one capsule every mealtime, three times a day.
Do NOT exceed the dosage. So, if you eat a meal which is high in fat do not be tempted to take two capsules to speed up the fat inhibiting effects.
If you forget to take a capsule and more than hour has passed since your last meal then do not take one. It is better to wait until your next meal and take a capsule then.
Do NOT take two capsules to make up for missing a dosage.
Try to avoid having too much fat in your diet whilst taking alli as this can cause unwanted side effects.
The importance of multivitamin supplements
Alli prevents some fat from being absorbed by your body. Whilst this is the desired effect of the weight loss programme it does mean that fewer fat soluble vitamins will be absorbed by your body.
These vitamins are essential to keep your body functioning as normal. In order to prevent any deficiencies, you are advised to take a multivitamin supplement on a daily basis whilst using alli. Choose a supplement which contains the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Take this multivitamin last thing at night so that it does not counteract the effects of alli. It also means that it will be absorbed into your bloodstream.
